Primary Transition

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I am able to introduce myself as Headteacher of Burnage Academy for Boys to those considering us in the future.

I am very happy that you are thinking about giving us responsibility for your son's education. I am incredibly proud and fortunate to lead such an amazing school, and one that Ofsted rightly graded Outstanding in October 2018. Last year, we're proud to say that boys here achieved better grades than they would have at any other school in the north of England.

We're proud of the way in which our values of resilience, independence and care underpin all of the work that we do.

Meanwhile, if you would like to take a tour – either to familiarise yourself with our campus and staff ready for your son to attend, or if you are thinking about Burnage Academy for Boys as a possibility, then contact us to arrange a visit at your convenience.

Yours sincerely,

K Harrison

A Message from our Transition CoordinatorFF53FEAECF

I am the Transition Co-ordinator for Burnage Academy for Boys and I am delighted that you want to know more about our fantastic Transition offer.

We know that starting secondary school can be an exciting and daunting time for many and we want to ensure that the transition process is as easy, informative and stress-free as possible. My role involves working with your son's primary school, yourself and your son, to make sure that they are settled and happy when they start with us in the new academic year.

We also have a friendly and supportive student Transition Ambassador team, who are very keen to help the new Year 7s start their journey at Burnage Academy.

We have a number of useful and exciting events planned from the Spring term onwards and I look forward to meeting you and your son then. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at school on the details above. Please also make use of the Transition resources below and familiarise yourself with the key information about the school.

Thanks and welcome to our school!

Your son will have the opportunity to get to know us before he starts in September. As well as information that we share via email, we will have school Transition Days where he can spend the day with us and meet his new classmates. These will take place in the first week of July.
