
The Station House provides an ideal base for Outdoor Pursuits, Fieldwork, Residential
Experience and other activities by schools, youth groups and other organisations.
The Centre was established by the conversion of the former railway station
in the village of Buxworth into a self contained Residential Centre.
The Centre is located in the village of Buxworth in Derbyshire Peak District,
on the edge of the National Park, just off the A6) and lies about 17 miles
south east of Manchester, 25 miles west of Sheffield, 30 miles from the M1,
and 33 miles from the M6. Edale, Castleton, Hayfield, Kinder and Buxton are
close by. Buxworth is a good base for all types of activity in both the Dark
and White Peak areas of the National Park. The grid reference of the Centre

The Centre is available throughout the year for letting as self catering accommodation to schools, youth organisations, and other corporate bodies. Any group renting the Centre has full and exclusive use of the Centre for the duration of their stay. The building is centrally heated. The Accommodation is described in more detail in the following pages. All rental charges are inclusive of heat, light, hot water, and use of cookers.
The Station House is owned by the Burnage High School Parents' Society,
which is a Registered Charity, (no. 506770), and managed jointly by the Parents' Society and staff of
Burnage High School.
